7-Night Cruise From Basel to Amsterdam—AmaWaterways Cruises

Europe’s Rhine River is all about fairytale castles rising from misty riverbanks, charming villages brimming with old-world charm, and cities that unveil a new story around every corner. 

This week, we’re going to explore more than just a cruise—it’s a beautiful experience through the heart of Europe, filled with adventure, culture, and breathtaking scenery.

Day 1: Board your river cruise ship in Basel and settle into your elegant stateroom. Enjoy a welcome dinner.

Day 2: This day offers various options as per your liking. You can either explore the wonderful town of Colmar or take a scenic hike through the mystical Black Forest. You can also bike through Breisach’s beautiful wine country. All while enjoying luxury perks!

Day 3: Discover the stunning "La Petite France" district on a guided walking tour and visit Strasbourg’s Notre-Dame Cathedral and its astronomical clock.

Day 4: Appreciate the beauty of Heidelberg, home to Germany’s most famous castle and Mark Twain’s inspiration. You can also Hike the Philosopher’s Path for stunning city views.

Day 5: Take a gondola ride over the vineyards and enjoy a wine tasting in lovely Rudesheim. Next, hike through the scenic vineyards. In the afternoon, sail through the dramatic Rhine Gorge.

Day 6: Stroll through Düsseldorf’s old town and sample traditional Altbier. I recommend taking a guided bike tour through Düsseldorf’s cultural landmarks.

Note: This single activity in Düsseldorf can awaken the inner viking in you!

Day 7: Cruise through Amsterdam’s breathtaking canals and admire the city’s stunning architecture. Experience the best foodie adventure, tasting Dutch specialties in a grand café

Day 8: Bid farewell to the Enchanting Rhine and prepare for your journey home, taking with you unforgettable memories and lots of laughter.
