ITINERARY
There are cruises that take you somewhere new.
Then there are cruises that feel like a true journey.
This 19-night sailing aboard Seven Seas Explorer® starts in Tokyo, travels along Japan’s Pacific coast, crosses the entire North Pacific, and finishes with an unforgettable run through Alaska before arriving in Vancouver.
The first part of the trip gives you several days to explore Japan beyond the usual tourist route.
You’ll visit ports like Hitachinaka, Sendai, Miyako, Aomori, and Kushiro before pointing the ship east and beginning the Pacific crossing.
Those sea days are a major part of this itinerary.
Instead of rushing from one port to another, you’ll have time to slow down and actually enjoy the ship — long dinners, cocktails, spa time, enrichment programs, and quiet mornings overlooking the ocean.
Then Alaska appears.
Kodiak kicks off the second half of the adventure before an overnight stop in Whittier, scenic cruising at Hubbard Glacier, and visits to Icy Strait Point, Juneau, and Ketchikan.
You’ll finish by cruising through the Inside Passage on your way to Vancouver.
It’s part Japan exploration, part classic ocean crossing, and part Alaska adventure.
And because Regent includes unlimited shore excursions alongside many of its onboard luxuries, there’s very little nickel-and-diming once you’re aboard.
Voyage dates: May 7, 2026 – May 26, 2026
Day 1: Begin in one of the world’s great cities. Tokyo, Japan. Arrive early if you can and give yourself time for Tokyo’s neighborhoods, incredible food, temples, shopping, and seemingly endless energy before boarding Explorer.
Day 2: Hitachinaka, Japan. Your first stop introduces you to coastal Japan. The region is known for expansive parks, seasonal flowers, shrines, and a quieter side of Japan beyond Tokyo.
Days 3: Sendai, Japan offers a mix of city culture and beautiful coastal scenery. It’s also a gateway for travelers interested in temples, historic sites, and nearby Matsushima Bay.
Day 4: Today is all about Japan’s rugged northeastern coastline in Miyako, Japan. Expect dramatic ocean scenery, rocky formations, and a much slower pace than you experienced in Tokyo.
